THE MONTHLY ECHO #April

Hi All!

Welcome to this month’s echo - a roundup of what’s been on my radar, what I’ve been pondering, and the gems I’ve stumbled across lately. Enjoy!

“Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.”

Lao Tzu

PERSONAL NEWS & VENTURES

58g - Celebrating Iconic Tennis Moments On Limited Garments. The clay season has started. All eyes are on the next Grand Slam: Roland Garros! We will release our next iconic moment shortly.

TECH & DESIGN

Leion AR Glasses - Real-time AR translation glasses that overlay subtitles directly in your field of view.

Claude Design - Basically Figma crossed with vibe coding, baked straight into Claude. Worth a watch.

Killing Satoshi - A $70M film about the story behind Bitcoin and the mystery of Satoshi Nakamoto.

ONE DAY TRAVEL ESCAPADE

Ojai Tennis Tournament - Just an hour and a half from LA and it feels like a completely different world. The perfect day trip. The Tennis tournament is a classic: relaxed atmosphere, incredible local talent, and free OJ for everyone.

Ojai has this rare quality that slows you down instantly, a real oasis. While you're there, make sure to stop by The Roblar, Rory's Place (and Rory's Other Place), and Pinyon Family. Put it on the list.

ON THE WATCHLIST

Beef - Season 2 is here with Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan. Same formula - a feud that escalates into chaos - but a whole new cast.

The Audacity - Silicon Valley comedy about a wannabe tech titan and his therapist. Stars Zach Galifianakis and Billy Magnussen. Already renewed for Season 2 before it even aired.

Man on Fire - Netflix's new take on the A.J. Quinnell novel. Starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Gripping and intense, set in Rio de Janeiro which is beautifully captured.

McMillions – Season 1 - A detailed account of the McDonald's Monopoly game scam during the 1990s as told by the participants: prizewinners, FBI agents, and the security officer who orchestrated the whole scheme.

New seasons of Euphoria, Your Friends and Neighbors - also on the list.

MORE WISDOM

“With a bow and arrow, you aim before you shoot. But in most areas of life, aiming is something you can do throughout the process. You can always adjust: your career path, your business strategy, your relationships, your workout program, your plans for next Wednesday. It's all adjustable along the way. So, pick a direction and get moving. Once you start, you learn along the way and there are plenty of opportunities to refine your plan." via James Clear

"The problem with keeping your options open is that every option requires energy to hold. And a shelf full of maybes is often heavier than a hand holding one yes. Put something down." via James Clear

"It's dark because you are trying too hard. Lightly child, lightly. Learn to do everything lightly. Think lightly, act lightly, feel lightly. Yes, feel lightly even though you're feeling deeply. Just lightly let things happen and lightly cope with them. Lightly, lightly - It's the best advice ever given me. Throw away your baggage and go forward. There are quicksands all about you, sucking at your feet, trying to suck you down into fear and self-pity and despair. That's why you must walk so lightly." — Aldous Huxley, Island
